Sunshine doesn’t climb up countertops. But as he is hairy, there is fur everywhere and sometimes even in food. Your poem is really good, Ritu and must go into your book.

He uses the counters to get on the boiler, where he likes to warm his butt!! Usually I keep the kitchen door closed, but whenever he finds a chance, he’s up there!!!

The way I taught my cat to stay off the table and counters was I had an empty soda pop can that I had put a few pieced of gravel. Enough for it to make noise, not be hurtful. I taped up the hole and when she got on the table, I threw the can at her. It didn’t hurt her at all, but the noise frightened her and she never got on them again.

Sonu Singh is the opposite… He runs and hides… It’s like he forgets how nice it feels, because once we get going, he sits beautifully!!! Silly cat lol!!
